September Start-up!

Dear Tweedsmuir Families,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We hope that you are well and have enjoyed a wonderful summer.

We are looking forward to welcoming students back to École Lord Tweedsmuir Elementary School on September 2nd. We have been working hard to ensure that everything is ready for the upcoming school year. We would like to provide you with further information about what you can expect when your child comes to school this first week.

INFORMATION FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL

Monday, September 1st: Labour Day (no school for students)

Tuesday, September 2, 2025

We would like to extend a huge thank you to our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) who will be holding a ‘Welcome Coffee’ from 8:50 – 9:50am in the undercover area.

Grade 1 – 5 Students

  • Tuesday, September 2nd: Students in attendance from 8:50- 9:50am.

All students will be lining up on the grass field (primary side) at a designated number along the back fence corresponding to their division from last year. Please see the chart below if you are unsure as to which division your child was in last year. We are asking parents to refrain from joining their child in line so that we can collect and release students in a safe manner. All students new to Tweedsmuir will be lining up in front of Number 23 (This applies to students in Grades 1 – 5). While your child will be lining up at the division number from last year, please let your child know that they may be greeted by a new adult instead of their teacher from last year.

Div 1 White Div 12 Louvet
Div 2 Kennedy Div 13 Seddiki
Div 3 Jovanovic (Mme Danica) Div 14 Wong

While we fully understand how excited the students will be to see and explore their growing garden on the first day back, we are asking that they refrain from picking any of the produce as classroom teachers are looking forward to continuing outdoor learning opportunities and the chance to harvest together during the month of September.

Wednesday, September 3rd onwards

Students will be in attendance from 8:50- 3:00pm. Please send your child to school with a snack, lunch, and a drink/water bottle. More information regarding line up and pick up location will be sent on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 2nd.

Back to School Forms

Back to School Permission Forms and Emergency Release Forms will be available on School Cash starting August 29, 2025. If you’re new to School Cash, please register using this LINK.

Thank you in advance for completing these forms promptly. If you need help, please contact us at 604-517-6070 or lordtweedsmuir@sd40.bc.ca.

School Supplies

To help reduce costs for families, teachers will be ordering bulk school supplies for all students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 for the school year. This system helps lower overall costs and cuts down on unnecessary packaging and shipping and will also include replenishments throughout the year. The cost of School Supplies this year is $50 per child.

If you prefer not to take part, please contact the school office and we’ll remove the fee from your SchoolCash account. You can then use the appropriate supply lists on the school website to purchase your own items.

No student will be denied access to learning because of financial hardship. If you are unable to pay some or all of the school fees, please speak with your child’s teacher, school counsellor, or the principal.

We are working hard to plan for a positive learning experience for your child and look forward to the year ahead. As always, please do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to connect or if you have any questions that we can help you with.

Looking forward to an engaging and exciting year of learning.
