Celebrating Music Monday 2020
In 2020 during the global Coronavirus pandemic, the New Westminster Schools District Choral Festival in celebration of Music Monday was cancelled. Music Monday takes place on the first Monday of May, and is a national day of celebration and advocacy for music education in Canada.
This year’s Music Monday song is “Hymn To Freedom” by Oscar Peterson with lyrics by Harriet Hamilton.
This collaborative video projects features current and former students exploring the themes of the song in art and music.
